Based on the word cloud we chose: love, vision, sea, forest and fall, we create drafts and rough directions based on our first impressions of five words, after creating the draft, we did research to refine our draft and create a storyboard.
《Summer Night》 is an oil painting by Edvard Munch from 1893. The main story is about Munch having dreams of his first love after seven years he broke up with her. We created the whole animation from this reference.
We created some scenes based on first love from painting, add some blurring to match the dream better. According to this painting and first love, combined with our words, the story of the young girl in this animation is told from the first point of view. We think from Munch’s mood， this dream should be joyful， with beautiful landscapes and loving people， so the colours in the animation should not be too gloomy. Because this story has a not-so-happy ending, the ending is processed a little differently from all the previous frames
